thanks, America...
...for choosing the right man for the job. Change is a Good Thing and y'all have made this Canadian in Germany very happy (yes, I cried when he gave his speech). And if I'm happy, I can just imagine how happy YOU must be.
Speaking of change and the right man for the job, Mr. M is right in the middle of remodelling our upstairs bathroom from stem to stern. I'm all itchy from the dust already. New ceiling, new lights, new commode, new bathtub, new flooring - the works. And maybe even a new bathmat and a few matching towels. That will be my department.
It's a big job, but we can do it.
Yes we can!

Out of curiosity, do you still vote in Canadian elections? I was a bit surprised when Stephen Harper won reelection.
Imagine how emotional you'll be when it's finished! A new bathroom a;ways brings me to tears. Hell, a clean bathroom brings me to tears!
Good luck with the remodel! And this American is one happy camper!
Claire - I would vote if I could, but I can't because I've lived outside the country for more than 5 years. Or is it 10? They have all sorts of rules and regulations and apparently I'm not eligible any more.
I think everyone was suprised that Harper got back in, but oh well.
ms mac - I know! I know I'll shed a tear or two on those shiny new tiles. The only good thing about a remodel in process, though, is that I don't have to clean it again until it's done!
hexe- Thanks! Hope the next four years go well for you. :-)
I'm still pinching myself just to make sure I didn't dream it all! (and yes, I teared up at the acceptance speech as well-- that man is just amazingly eloquent, isn't he?!)
Good luck with all the renovations / decorating!
Being a sentimental man, I have to confess I had tears in my eyes every time they repeated the shot of Jesse Jackson with tears rolling down his face when the announcement was made. Same thing when I hear Martin Luther King's famous speech. There is still hope! (And good luck with the bathroom!)
I LOVE IT! I love how you made the twp "projects" parallel! YES WE CAN. I think I can now go back to Europe and walk tall! (Starting with Zurich and Basel this week!)
I cried too listening to President-Elect Obama speak... it is a BRAND new dawn for the world, isn't it?!
Coming from Virginia, I couldn't have been more proud of my Commonwealth and how we voted!
And I'm with Ms. Mac...a CLEAN boy bathroom makes me happier than a child on Christmas morning!!!
Hailing from an Indiana that turned blue, I was especially proud of my country last week. I've had tears of joy ever since. Lurking Lisa in Stuttyville.
Hallelujah!
[From a non-lurker in an Indiana that turned blue] :)
