(snow)man's best friend

We drove home from dinner with friends on Friday night in a scary snowstorm and woke up on Saturday to find six inches of the white stuff covering the yard. Boy12 used almost all of it (plus a few leaves and a bunch of dirt) to make a snowman, carrot courtesy of our helpful neighbour.

More snow to come. Whee. It's officially winter. Now where did I put my skis?

Just been out for a snowy walk, and kids around here were also taking advantage of it. Good fun for them.

My girls built a tiny snowman yesterday morning but after an hour he was completely covered and they were upset because they couldn't find the carrot nose. :)

I had carrots at home, but unfortunately, not enough snow stayed put to even build the tiniest of snowmen. So even if I had made the effort, I'm afraid the carrot/snowman proportion would have been way out of range! LOL!

Out this way it was 16ºC yesterday, though the cold is coming. WE probably won't see any snow, though. Are snowmen also typical in Germany? I suppose they probably are now, whether or not it is traditional, just because of the way ideas travel from one culture to another. For all I know, they may have even originated over there!

We got a little bit here as well. But I don't have boots for the kids so they didn't play outside (and thankfully didn't ask to!)

B12 has some talent there with your small yard! It is getting cooler here and I'm dreading the cold still because most of my warm clothes are still sitting in storage!

6 inches?

We only got 2cm (at least in the city) - and I'm extremely happy that we didn't get more.

6 inches! Wow! We didn't have any measurable snow. I'm a little jealous!

I wished we had some snow here at this time of the year. We always seem to get it late in winter (February), when nobody really wants to see it anymore:)

We heard about the snowstorm, our friend hat to drive from Barcelona to Munich on Sunday and wasn't happy about it...

Wasn't it crazy! It never gets like that here. The Dude did not like the snow! I took him out side and stood while it fell. He started crying!

PS My verification word is: ashol

Oh my!

I just read a joke today about one snowman asking the other if he smelled carrot? :) HA! I love it.
