you know it's going to be a great weekend...

...when Friday's lunch matches your blog!

Finding a decent avocado around here is also cause for celebration. Lucky for me that the rest of the family are guacamole haters. No need to share the goodness. Yes, those are tortilla chips and yes, I was on the cross trainer for a good long time yesterday and the day before so I deserve them.

Spring has made a great showing in the garden so far. Here's a little selection of what's been popping up.

First it was the daffodils and grape hyacinths.

Then came the tulips in all variations

'Pomponette' English daisies and pink cryanthemums. Aren't they perky?

And finally we have periwinkles and pansies - a couple of my very favourite flowers.

This is the start of yet another four day weekend, for the kids, at least. It's Pfingsten or Whitsun so they get both Monday and Tuesday off. Mr. M will have to settle for Monday only but he doesn't mind. The weather is supposed to stay in this gorgeous holding pattern until the middle of next week so we'll most likely be spending a lot of time outdoors.

Hope y'all have a wonderful, sunny weekend. Our dinner guests are scheduled for 7 p.m. this evening. Must go cook something...

Guac is my absolute favorite! You're lucky you don't have to share :) Your garden looks like paradise! I hope your weather is as lovely as ours has been this past week and I hope this isn't all the summer we're going to get like last year!

Oh Mausi, your spring flowers are so utterly gorgeous they make me long for spring and the summer heat, the holiday feeling that the warmth brings, and beauty of the countryside in Germany!

Enjoy the long weekend!

I love avocado and eat it any way at all. I love your flowers, we are still cool here but I did have some tulips showing their heads, that is until the squirrels ate them all. Not one tulip left for me to enjoy, sigh...ciao

I knew I forgot smething on my list today... Avocado. Luckily, I can still pick one or two up tomorrow. Mmmmmm!

And tomorrow, we'll be re-doing some of the garden, so I guess the blogging will have to wait a bit again. *sigh*

What is it with the bad avocados here? I always found good ones in Zurich, but in Munich the last 3 or 4 I've bought have sucked in a way I've never known avocados could suck. I must do more research on this.

You are in a good place, Christina, when your lunch describes your weekend. :D I love it! And the flowers are chiming in chorus!

We all love avocados...so much, I even had an avocado salad while in a Japanese restaurant yesterday :)
Your flowers are beautiful beyond words...it's partly due to the rain you keep for your domain only... We know it's beautiful weather in Germany when we get rain in May in Spain: the whole weekend! which is a blessing for our garden (now that we have a ban on watering gardens), can't wait to see it two weeks from now. Have a wonderful long weekend!

Holy Guacamole, Batgirl. You can get decent avocados around Frankfurt, provided you are willing to let them sit and soften for a week or two.

We love the avocados as well. But, we both like them. Sharing brings us closer together.

Flowers look great as well.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your garden. I have perky Pomponette in window boxes, but didn’t know their name.
