birthday suit
Mr. Mausi celebrates his 45th birthday today. He's also celebrating being with the same company for the past 19 years. Isn't that just so very German of him?

One fine day long, long ago a little boy, not even five years old yet, said to himself, "Hmm, I really dig wearing this shirt and tie. I like it so much, in fact, that when I grow up I want to be head of my department so I can wear a shirt and tie to work every single day. Yeah, that's it!"
"So be it!", proclaimed the good fairy waving her magic wand, "When the time is right, you shall become a department head."
I think she meant a department head with a necktie fetish.
be careful what you wish for
Happy Birthday, Mr. M! You haven't changed a bit.

Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday! What a tie collection ... does Mr M get another tie for a present?
Happy Birthday Mr M! I used to have to wear a tie everyday for work for many a year. To be honest I don't even know if I own one nowadays! :)
Happy Birthday Mr. M. and many more to come! It was a pleasure meeting you guys last summer.
Awwwww....a tad late, again..but Happy Birthday anyway!
Wishing Mr. M. a very happy birthday and sending belated birthday wishes to your son. Hope they both had wonderful birthdays.
Buon compleanno e tanti auguri!
Cyn
Happy belated Brithday, Mr. M!
That's quite a collection! I guess it also means that you always have plenty to iron (shirts), eh, Christina?
Happy b-day Mr M!
Andrew just recently started his tie fetish. He was always a badly dressed computer geek... I think Europe has rubbed off on him (that and all of the customer meetings). Now he has a huge tie collection... and it's growing all the time :)
Philip - Thanks! I passed it on.
mikeb - No, no, no! No more ties from me. I don't want to feed the addiction.
haddock - He could get away without wearing one but he thinks it makes him look more boss-like. :-) Thanks for the birthday wishes.
P - Thanks for dropping by, P! I keep forgetting that you guys have actually met Mr M in person.
Elemm - Thanks and it's OK, I really should post these things earlier but you know how it is when real life gets in the way.
Cynthia - Molte grazie! (Is that right? I don't speak Italian)
CSwiss - That's only about half of them and yeah, tons of ironing.
Alison - Be careful, once they get started they just can't stop. And it's such a ritual picking out just the right one in the morning. Worse than women and handbags!
Happy birthday, Mr. M! Hope it was a great day!
LOL - now that is just too funny! I know P beat me to it earlier. But wishing Mr. M a very happy bday!
Happy B-Day to a well turned out Mr. M! :)
*secretly smiling about the ties*
Truth be known, Christina, I myself have a fetish for ties. :) I'd wear one every day to work as well if I could get away with it. I remember LOVING to buy them for Bill and Mark all those years ago.
However, being casual at work was one of the best things that happened after the IBM dress code changed!
Happy Birthday, Mr. M (might as well let it last a week!).
I like the range in styles and colors in the tie selection.
And the 5-year-old Mr. M? He looks like he rules the school. Very self assured.
If there is a space problem in the tie cupboard, just have him wear several at once to Weiberfasnacht (for those non-German readers, a prelude to Carneval where at at exactly 11 minutes past 11 a.m. women burst out onto the streets with huge pairs of scissors and cut off the neckties of any males so foolhardy as to wear one. It has some symbolic meaning, this disecting of some dangling appendage, but I have forgotten exactly what)
Dixie Thanks! We had a nice day and spent the afternoon at the out-laws', oops, I mean the in-laws'. ;-)
Expat- Thanks ET!
Lisa- Does G have tie issues too?
Ginnie- There are some really beautiful ties out there, aren't there? Not everyone at his office wears a tie, but he just prefers to.
v-grrrl - Some of those ties go way back so we've probably got the 80's and the 90's represented along with the new millenium. And he got a bit taller - 6'4" now - and kept the attitude.
vailian - No such luck - they don't go in for Weiberfastnacht much up here in the north and he has yet to come home with a snipped-off tie. :-)
What a great post! Happy birthday, Mr. M!
Happy Birthday Mr. M!!!
This is a busy birthday time of year for you. Happy birthday to Mr. M
Well, I'm not sure I'd call it an 'issue'. More like an 'allergy'. ;) I found the mangled remains of a whole tie and a half in the bottom of the laundry the other day... the only sign this humble castle is ruled by a Man-Of-Business.
