sock blogging - it's all I got

Remember those beautiful socks my sweet friend Betty knit for me? Well, apparently Betty wanted to see not just a picture of the socks, but a picture of the the socks on my feet just to make sure I was actually wearing them and not using them as potholders or something.

Betty! Are you there? This one's for you.

See? A perfect fit.

Looks like it's going to be a slow, slow blogging week here at Mausi headquarters unless I finally get rid of the post-holiday blahs and find a bit of inspiration.

Stay tuned. There may be food.

Those are bee-yoo-tee-full! And food, yes. I kinda got partway out of the dumps by making chocolate chip cookie bars the day after we came back from Thailand. Half the work of chocolate chip cookies and all the calories and chewy chocolatey goodness.

You have the most photogenic feet ever!! The socks look wonderful. Thanks for letting me see them again. I'm thinking of working out of the blahs by becoming more assertive to certain people today. Exercise is supposed to work, too. Of course, I would (and did) try chocolate first.

I'm sure that you will get the inspiration back soon. Just a matter of getting back into the rhythm of thing (with which I am also still trying to master)

Those socks are fantastic! And they look incredibly complicated (at least to my untrained eye)... nice work, Betty!

In Spain we ate tons of stunning meat. Lots of beef and lamb ... I need some yummy tangy tender delicious meat recipes.

Can you wander on out of the wintertime expat blues and help me dear Mausi ... well there's that and I'm missing your posts.

Love the socks, just btw.

Great socks but I like your food posts. I going to bake a Frankfurter Kranz on the weekend, maybe I'll post it. Mom's 84th b-day and that's what she wants. ciao

Awwww. Maybe someday someone will knit socks for me (hint-hint to anyone listening; size 7), HA. They look so scrumptious on your feet. When I watched Dixie knit hers, I actually thought I might want to try it myself someday. Someday!

I got that hint, Ginnie! You're on the list!

Very pretty socks! I really like that colorway. The last two pair of socks I've knit have been with solid color yarn since I was doing a patterned sock and I am sick to death of knitting a solid color. My next pair is gonna be something wilder!

I'm with you, Christina, about the post-holiday blahs. And this crazy weather isn't helping!

oh oh oh - food! I want to see it. I was dreaming about food my entire walk home from the gym. Good thing I didn't have money or I would have stopped at the store and bought something I shouldn't have...

Sandra - I LOVE chocolate chip cookie bars. No muss, no fuss. The only thing wrong with them is the portion control thing. I mean, if you divide the pan into four can you say you only ate four cookies? :-)

Betty - It's an optical illusion - the socks make my feet photogenic. And way to go delegating responsibility. You sure showed them!

CanSwiss - Yeah, at least if I had jet lag it would be an excuse. I'm slowly getting back in to it though.

Betsy - OK, but only if you give it back when you're finished.

Caligirl - They were special order, I got to choose the yarn and everything and those were the colours I liked best.

Angie - Well, you need to have some knitting skills to make them (Betty has those, I don't) but the wool is self-patterning so you just keep knitting and it magically appears. What will they think of next?

woman wandering - Mmm, yes, the meat in Spain is fabulous. I can remember some memorable meals. I'm not all that great with beef but I can do lamb with lots of garlic.

rositta - Oh, definitely post about the Frankfurter Kranz. Those are SO good.

Alison - Me too! I've started many projects but I get bored or frustrated half way through.

Ginnie - LOL! I can see you getting tons of socks in the mail in a couple of weeks!

Dixie - I thought the colours were so cheerful and they go with everything.

Expat - But with all the workouts you're doing now you can afford to eat anything! :-)
