now you know

Lynn has tagged me for the "5 things you didn't know about me" meme.

1. When it comes to keeping my house clean and tidy, you'll find me right down at the bottom of the German Hausfrau barrel. BUT all the teaspoons in my cutlery drawer MUST be facing in the same direction or I swear I will go insane.

2. The only thing I remember from high school math classes is how to count to 10 in Chinese (Thank you, Mrs. Yeung!). I am still waiting for this to come in handy.

3. I cannot stand fresh mangoes. To me they taste like potting soil. I will, however, rip that jar of mango chutney right out of your little hands. Give me a spoon and make it snappy!

4. After dinner I like to relax with a nice steaming cup of hot...water.

5. When I die I want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered over the Pacific Ocean. Is that too much to ask?

(for more excitement also see: 15 things about me that I wrote back in 2005)

I won't tag anyone with this one. Do it at your own peril.

Hot Water...!?! Christina, now everone will think the backwards Canuks have not discovered coffee yet :)

Gosh Christina, you are seriously strange!

I'm a little bit frightened to come back here...

(However your voice meme was so utterly charming that I will try and overcome my disappointment over your fresh mango distaste-repulsion thingy. Perhaps we can still be friends!)

Alison - Ha ha, you think so? I could put Tim Hortons out of business, eh? :-)

Antipo - Oh, I'm sure we could work around the tropical fruit issue. Maybe I just haven't met the right mango yet!

Christina, after learning all the things we never knew about you (are there more?), the one thing that stays constant is your incredible sense of humor. I could come up with 5 unknown things about me and they'd come off as a complete dud by comparison. So I'll just stick with yours. :)

Keeping house clean and tidy? I'm at the bottom of the German and the Swiss! Teaspoons? I'm with you!

You can count in Chinese? I'm impressed!

Fresh mangoes? I love them AND the chutney, too, but I'll share.

Hot water? Only if it's in a tub... and I won't drink it.

The Pacific ash scattering is NEVER too much to ask!

Blech Mango! Blech everything Mango flavoured! Blech blech blech!

Ditto on the mango/chutney thing; hate the fruit fresh, but love it pickled. Funny, no? I sometimes let our spoons sleep with our forks ... that's just the kind of guy I am. And if we ever meet at a blogger get together, I'm dying to hear your chinese with that cute, western Canadian accent ... 一, 二, 三, 漂亮加拿大人妈妈.

Ha ha ha Ms Mac...I love fresh mangoes but not overripe ones..those taste like paraffin would, I think. Very petrolly.

And hot water? Hon, you worry me.

But yeah to ash scattering..although I'd like mine done off a high mountain. Wonder who'll climb up?

Not too strange, except for the hot water.

Here's a little know fact about me...

I can move things with my mind.

It's true. Watch. See that? I just moved my left foot, by only thinking about it.

Hot water?? What's up with that?! :)

Ok, so I'll be the freak who says that the water isn't that weird - at least I have seen it done before. Every few months my mother tries to cut down on her caffeine intake and substitutes hot water for tea.

How about dried mangos?

Ginnie - Well, I'm glad I made you laugh. And yes, there are many more things about me but I'm saving them for a rainy day. :-)

canswiss - Now we want to see YOUR list!

ms mac - Yes, I recalled you being a fellow mango eschewer. Do they taste like dirt to you too?

mike b - I'm afraid my Chinese could never stand up to yours - the only other things I know are "Ni hao" and "Gung Hay Fat Choy".

wendz - Petrolly describes it exactly. Sort of oily and earthy. Bleh.

rhea - Thanks for visiting. How come no one likes my hot water?

Sal - You never cease to amaze us, amigo. Keep up the good work. Uri Geller would be proud.

Cathy - I dunno, I just like it.

ann - Yeah, it's really good if you want a calorie free, caffeine free hot drink. And dried mangoes are OK with me.

Down at the bottom of that German hausfrau barrel, you'll find me - battling you for bottom rung. I'd far rather blog than clean.
