in search of nutrition

As much as some of us would like to try to live on cookies and cookies alone, it's just not a good idea in the long run. Face it, you eat 15 cookies and an hour later you're hungry again. That can't be right. You need something that sticks to your ribs.

That's why today instead of cookies, I rustled up some Real Food.

Egyptian lentil soup and roasted eggplant dip with free-form flatbread crackers.

Now that's more like it. I feel so virtuous.

Your presentation is amazing!

On the other hand, I made more cookies today. LOL! Yesterday, I did make a vegetable-beef soup with fresh and tasty ingredients. Unfortunately, it wasn't picture worthy.

geez, is there anything you can't make?

You definitely need to start a companion blog with your recipies on it.

This is so very virtuous, Christina, I can hardly stand it. This is my kind of food. :) (But not because I'm "virtuous," I'm quite sure.)

Lentils always cures whatever you damaged with eating too much cookies.

It all looks delicious!

I'm strangely reminded of the old Sam Kinnison (?) comedy routine, "Don't send them food, send them U-Hauls. Move them away from the desert!" Way to virtuous for me. Time for more chocolate.

Hmmm, yummy food. I like to cook "real food" more than baked goods sometimes. I didn't get to comment on the cookie post, but I found them absolutely scrumptious! I don't bake cookies that often -- can't muster the courage to use that much sugar, which will certainly be gobbled up in no time by my two little boys.
