Ah...a question that many of us ask ourselves after a certain point.

Sal

PS: Kudos to both you and EuroTrac on your YouTube choices today.

Hey Sal! - Yep, time flies when you're having fun, eh? :-) I have this song on my iPod and enjoy it even when I'm not having existential angst.

mar - I don't think I had ever seen the video before either - just came across it today when I was hanging out at YouTube and thought I'd share.

God, Christina, how is it that you come up with these things? I love this song! Brings back memories of my days as a petulant teenager, sneaking in MTV fixes when I was supposed to be doing my homework. Watering down my dad's vodka. Painting my nails fire engine red. Wouldn't want to relive those days for all the money in the world, but I do loooooooove to revisit the music! Thanks!

Be careful with that question ...

I asked something like that once and I ended up going to university at 34, ummm graduating, abandoning my people and moving to Istanbul.

The madness continues and here I am in Belgium.

Betsy - I guess I must be tuned into the collective cosmic consciousness of the blogosphere! I think we shared a similar teenage experience except that I remember watering down someone else's dad's vodka. :-)

CanSwiss - Really? Where were you in 1980? Still in Canada or already in the Swiss outback?

Di - I know, I know. :-) Just imagine where we'll all be in 10 years. :-O

How hysterical, Christina. Of course, I NEVER lived in the real world growing up, so this is all new to me. Love it :)

Yes, I've been thinking of this song because I have been watching the American drug crime series, THE WIRE. It's very good but painful cursing and the N word throughout. One of the charming things about the show is the repeated use of the term "as it ever was" as in
"True today as it ever was" and "Same as it ever was" in that same basso profundo resigned delivery - not like high delicate David Byrne. I wonder if it is a Baltimore Maryland thing because their speech is charming.

Oh, yes, I saw David Byrne about ten years ago in NYC. He looked just the same and looked nice.
