no, I have not been abducted by aliens

It just feels like it.

I'm busy packing because we leave on THURSDAY and as usual, there are a million things left to do. I swore to myself that this time there would be no final panic packing at 2 a.m. on Thursday morning. But why break with tradition, eh?

Since boy10 and all the other 4th graders are changing school this year, last week and this week have been a whirlwind of farewell parties and school concerts. Nothing on today though so I'm going to go for it and try to get a lot accomplished.

Things that need to be done by Thursday, besides packing, of course:

1. remove potentially scary items from fridge. Donate to neighbours.

2. Scrub the bejeezus out of the bathtub/shower (nope, can't be put off any longer. ughh)

3. Find Boy10's favourite swimming trunks and the memory card for Mr. M's mp3 player.

4. Decide on how many pairs of shoes is too many

5. Lose 15 lbs. (I'm halfway through a bag of M&Ms as I write this so I don't see it happening any time soon)

To make all of this even more enjoyable, it's supposed to go up to 33°C today. That's like 91°F! Just the right weather for scrubbing the bathtub.

More later...

Scrubbing the tub when it's 33C? You're nuts! You should be out cycling like normal people :)

Try scrubbing the tub when you're in it wearing a bathing suit, then rinse the tub, then yourself, and there you go... A clean tub and a freshly showered Mausi! :)

I feel your pain! LOL! Yesterday it was 97 degrees here! Ang today? Yep upper 90's again!
With poison ivy covering my arms I am forced into long sleeves! Boo-hoo!!!
Pass the M&M's!

I agree with canadianswiss - scrubbing your bathtub is idea for hot days, you can get refreshened whenever you want to.
Great, huh?
But why do YOU have to find Mr M:s memory card? ;)

I think you also mentioned before that if you forget anything, Canada will certainly have it :) Well, I feel your excitement and who cares if you don't get everything done at the house. It'll be there when you come back (ha). Once you step outside and are on your way, don't look back. Enjoy it all (the trip, that is)!

Good luck with the packing. We arrived home yesterday and are currently in the unpacking phase. The packing phase is much more fun! Hope you have a good flight!

J - I knew you'd say that. :-) 33° + a bike would be the death of me.

CanSwiss - I ended up just wearing my underwear!

Maribeth - 97 would be way too much for me, but I think you get a dry heat, don't you? It's the humidity that gets everyone here.

Tobias - I have to find the card because I'm the only one in the family with Lost Item Radar. Missing things call out to me even if they're buried under a pile of rubble.

Ginnie- Absolutely - I keep forgetting we're going to visit a civilized country. :-) The fridge and tub really needed to be done but everything else can certainly wait.

hexe - Thanks! I'll have to pop over and see how your trip was. I'm not really keen on either packing or unpacking. I just want to snap my fingers and have it all done.

Lisa - I'm really excited. It's been two years and there's so much to catch up on. Photos will definitely be taken.

If you don't get to blog tomorrow, have a great trip!

I'm going to jump into the shower now before going on my date...and what would any respectable Münchner do on such a hot day? Go to the Biergarten, of course!!! :-)

I just realized today is Tuesday and you leave the day after tomorrow. Duh! Have a great trip and say "Hi" to West Canada for me. To think I'd be in Canada (other side) as well. *Sigh*... Have fun! Bon voyage, arrivederci, see you in a few weeks! :-)

CanadaSwiss beat me to it - I say scrub the tub with the shower running!

And what is this "too many shoes" of which you speak? I don't know I've ever heard of that.

I only scrub the bathtub/shower when I am in it, seriously!I can reach the wall a lot better. I only need extra body lotion afterwards, lol! Have a safe trip and a great vacation, what fun!!!

I am so excited for you and the family - a trip home! I know you're busier than a one armed paperhanger but you'll get it all together before it's time to leave.

Have a safe and fun trip1

think maybe the sweat could help you loose weight. But I know you are doing wonderful since you are up very late your time. :)

If it makes you feel better, our weather might turn to 30C by the weekend, but for now it's 23C out.

Have a fantastic time in Canada! Do be careful though, reliable sources tell me that the place is full to overflowing with Canadians! They are everywhere I hear....

Just a lil heads up for you!
