deutschland, deutschland über alles?

We're just about to leave for our friends' house to watch the Germany vs. Argentina game.

As you've probably seen in the news, people are dressing up in some really crazy outfits. I figured I should assimilate a bit, but I refuse to wear a hat or paint my face. Or put on a bikini in Germany's colours.

I thought I'd go for something ladylike and got myself a black, red and yellow feather boa.

Not my colours at all, but it's only for a day. Unless Germany wins, of course. I guess I should have moved to a country with a more tasteful flag. (Argentina comes to mind, lovely turqoise blue, but now is not the time to voice that opinion)

Boy10 is also displaying team spirit and has chosen this fashion statement.

May the best team win!

Weil gluck (I think that is something close to "good luck," but my German is lacking.)

I'll also be watching from my little office here in the Land of Corn and Basketball.

You can send those boas -- yellow and red, anyway -- to your Spanish friends when you are done cheering for Germany! ;)

You both look gorgeous! :)
I jumped up and down with my 5 and 1 year olds looking at me like I'd lost my mind when they made the tie goal! There must be lots of parties going on tonight in Deutschland!

Yeah Germany!

And "Happy Canada Day" to you as well! In other countries we've lived in we got to go to the Embassy celebrations but here in Albania we don't have an Embassy! I tried to get Peter to tek me to Milan where our embassy supposedly is but well... he wouldn't move.
Have a great weekend!

Grats on the German win! But I can't say I favor them to win the World Cup, I might jinx them! I would totally wear Greek colors if they ever make it to the World Cup.

Happy Canada Day!

The head-gear at all the games is just hysterical, but I'm like you--very NOT a hat person. You did a superb job with the boa, however :) And I'm so glad to say that at least THAT game they won.
