naughty footwear?

Our local discount supermarket has these spiffy slip-on sandals on offer today...

(NOT my beige shag carpet - photo borrowed from their website)

Is it just me, or do the green ones seem to be sending out an interesting message?

Yin/yang symbols. What's wrong with that?

Nice try, Sal. ;-) They do look a lot more appetizing than that haggis, though, don't they?

Ooh la la Christina! Can you send me a pair of the green ones asap?! I want to send out interesting messages too!

That's hilarious! They are cute though :)

Antipo - They'd be perfect for you - you could put them on your naughty blog!

Alison - I'm kind of wondering who designed them. They ARE cute. Hey, if I were single I'd consider buying a pair. ;-)

Oh my, Christina is working a little blue today...

:D ! Am I exposing my dirty mind revealing that I see it too?
I love those sandals. Please God, let them be from Aldi or Norma and please let them be only 4,99 Euro per pair.

They're green, plus a big ole 69 right on the toes, that's a hidden message if I ever saw one. But I wouldn't mind a pair, either!

Mr Fab - Not blue, silly. Green!;-)

Lisa - Good to know I'm not the only one. Only €9.99 today at Plus if you have one near you.

Meredith - I can't wait to see all the old grannies in our little town wearing these! :-)

I thought I saw those at Wal-Mart® for EUR 5.99 ;)

I think we would find these in North America at the Dollar Store. Do they have those in Canada, and is it still CDN $1.00? In inquiring minds want to know.

At May 04, 2006 3:33 p.m., Blogger christina said...

cmhl - Yeah, I don't think I'd wear them either - we have to retain some semblance of decency. :-)

Kim - Great minds think alike. ;-) You can practically buy your whole wardrobe at the supermarkets here.

mike b - Nahh, I think they're too classy for WalMart.:-) and yes, the Dollar Store is still called the Dollar Store in Canada. Or sometimes the Looney Store. Really. There are also Tooney Stores that sell stuff for $2. That's why we always end up bringing 8 stuffed suitcases back with us when we go on vacation.

Do they have any with 68 on them? That's my preferred "interesting message"- You give me one and I'll owe you!

At May 04, 2006 4:06 p.m., Blogger Expat Traveler said...

1969 of course... What were you thinking.... pffff....
The message they really give me is if they don't carry MY size, they don't want my feet wearing them. I'm sure they don't have size 43... So I'll stop there...

At May 04, 2006 4:25 p.m., Blogger Angie said...

Those red ones are super cute!

However I agree about the green ones... people would point at your feet and snicker all day. (I have really big feet, I get enough of that already.)

At May 04, 2006 4:42 p.m., Anonymous Belinda said...

actually if you look at the symbol for the zodiac sign "Pisces" it looks like the "69". You could always tell people that anyway. ;)

At May 04, 2006 4:54 p.m., Blogger christina said...

Ms. Mac - 68? 68? Must go think about this for a while. :-) I think you'd just have to make do with 69 though.

Expat - 1969? Of course! See? Your mind hasn't yet been corrupted by the internet. You're right, they usually stop at size 42 so you'd be out of luck.

Angie - Yeah, the red ones are pretty cute. No one would point and laugh at those. People snicker at your feet? That's not nice.

Belinda - Very true. I wonder if that's what they were getting at? And here we all are with our minds way down below the belt. So to speak. :-)

Yes, but what does those numbers on green mean? hmmmm......

At May 04, 2006 6:09 p.m., Blogger CanadianSwiss said...

Now, trying to see it a bit differenty, they look like the prints on football shirts. You know, whith the player's name on top? Now imagine anyone trying to play football while wearing those. Bwahaaha!! Slipper WM!

At May 04, 2006 7:54 p.m., Blogger Claire said...

LOL! Christina - I had a feeling that you are naughty!

HA ha Christina!
Today I spotted funny things in a shop here too--- a t-shirt that said "I'AM NOT SINGLE" (yes with the apostrophe like that), and another t that said "LOVE IN ME"!

At May 04, 2006 10:05 p.m., Blogger J said...

omg, traveller one! 'Love in me'! ROFLMAO. Was it a t-shirt for women, men or unisex?

At May 04, 2006 11:11 p.m., Blogger christina said...

J - Who knows? Probably something even more naughty.

canadianswiss - Yes, I think maybe they were trying to go for that football look because it's all over the place for the WM. I just think they chose an amusing number. :-)

Claire - Me, naughty? Now whatever gave you that idea? Let's just say I wasn't born yesterday.;-)

Ginnie - Right! And humour is everywhere, even at the supermarket!

traveller - Those are great! It always amazes me that no ones seems to check these things for grammar or spelling or questionable content before they put them on the market.

I think the green ones give the term "CFM pumps" a whole new meaning. Heh.

And honestly it's not much worse than the young lady I saw working at an optical shop wearing a t-shirt with a big strawberry on the front with "Eat Me" scrawled across it.

Go ahead and buy the green 69 shoes, but stay away from the matching underpants!

Dixie - Heh. Really. And those t-shirts really kill me. Just the thing to wear to work, huh?

Cynthia - Oh yes, the underpants would just be too much of a good thing. :-)

Hidden message???
World Cup Green? I would wish to see some football player with this number on his shirt :-)
buy them, and if you go out you already have the "ice braker" on you, though you never have to use "have a lit?"

I can't believe that nobody has picked up on the fact that the "69" sandals are on SHAG carpet.

Oh, oh, oh!!!

Cute shoes despite the odd message.

I bought a t-shirt last year that said "Wish You Were Here" with a hibiscus flower and palm tree print. My husband immediately took that as a direct invitation from my breasts to his hands.

estoypensado - Thanks for visiting!Unfortunately I have no need of ice breakers these days. :-)

mrs. johnson - Oh you ARE a naughty one! ;-)

lilyb - Ha ha! That's funny. They'll use any excuse, eh?

Joy - I knew you'd say that!

Ahhh Dorothy, you're in Europe now ... where that sweet little village main street in the Netherlands has 16 sex shops dotted along it.

Alison mentioned the shoes, I had to come by and take a peek :)
