whine whine whine

The First Annual Whiney Expat Bloggers in Germany Meet Up in October 2005 was such a resounding success (even if only 6 people actually made it!) that we've decided to do it again, especially since so many more fabulous expat bloggers have been coming out of the woodwork lately. Suggestions for time of year and location can be put in for consideration at J's blog . Any whiney expats, anywhere in the general vicinity (this includes Indiana, Angie!) are welcome to brave the horrors of the Deutsche Bahn and come along, of course. The more the merrier!

It seems so glamorous and keen to be an expat. I am actually jealous!

mr. fabulous - It *seems* that way, but believe me, it's not really. Well, not for me, at least. It's just a life like any other life except sometimes you get on a train or plane and go somewhere. :-)

What with an expat on low budget that can't just travel to and fro with the exorbitantly outrageous hight price of Deutscher Bahn?

Oh, chucks....I even put 'Deutsche Bahn' in Dative in my last comment. *helps!*

I come and go, in and out of Germany, almost every month, as you know. But once I know when it is, I'll put my bid in for making sure we're here then. I do get to pull strings ever so often :) Sounds like fun!

Sounds like you had a great time last year. Would be fun to meet up.

Christina,

I started following you thru the Dusseldorf blog. OMG lady you're such a hoot. I love style of candid writing you have. By the way, I currently live in Canada (used to live in Europe.) So it looks like we swtiched sides.
If there's anything I can do for you, let me. You want political gossip or local news? (all available on the internet I know...) But let me know if there's a way to connect real-time with blood and flesh to your home.

Cheers,
Enjoy the European duty (that's what I call living abroad.)
Nyana.

Christina, shall we band together and push for Hannover as our Meet Up location?

Cheers for the post, Christina. Also, I don't mean to take over your comments with this post.

ele, perhaps there's another person in Munich that will be coming that you can hitch a ride with?

CanSwiss, come on up. By the way, we have a Whiney Expat Blogger in Basel.

dixie, Hannover might make it a bit difficult for some of our southern friends (Stuttgarters, Munichians, etc) to attend.

No problem J! You can take over my comments any time you like!

Dixie - As J says, Hannover is a bit far north for some of the others, but...we could certainly see if we could have our own little mini-meetup with whoever might be in the area and wanted to come!

Elemm - my ticket last time wasn't all that expensive. If you book far enough ahead and specify which trains you want you can save a lot.

Haddock - I know you felt right at home last time - Ha ha!

Ginnie - it would be lovely if you could come along. It most likely won't be until the fall so I think we'll have it organized pretty far in advance.

candianswiss - Yes, would be great to meet you! I think swissmiss was showing some interest too.

nyana - thanks for visiting!

Hmmm. I think I'd even combine that with a trip to Holland to visit OrangeX's family. I'll have to speak to him about it this weekend. Will keep you (and J.)posted.

I want to join! I could do a tele-conference...
haha just a joke...
But if Christina comes this summer I want to meet up with you! We'll be close by and in the same city!

I sooo would love to go!!! maybe expat and I can join together via tele-confrance?

CanadianSwiss - Sure, that's a good idea. Just keep putting in your ideas at J's and we'll all come up with something.

Expat - a teleconference would be hilarious! We can definitely meet up in the summer, though. We'll be in W. Van almost the whole time.

Andrea - We'll just put up a life-size carboard picture of you! :-)

I'm late on this one... but count me in! :) Even if I have to teleconference! (Stupid U.S. companies and their habit of only giving us 1-2 weeks off per year! I've already blown 4 days, and it's not even February... oops!)

Ich spreche about 12 words in German... but I greatly enjoyed Germany when I was there. Hablo mucho espanol... and not much else. But half the fun of being an innocent abroad is language barriers, so I vote for wherever the rest of the whiners want to go!

I plan on being there ... unless I get a terminal case of "grim" between now and next October!
