dirty laundry

So yesterday evening the kids are in bed, I'm sitting in front of the computer perfecting my mad HTML skillz and Mr. M is safely ensconced in the living room inhaling yet another episode of either American Chopper or Top 10 Tanks/Helicopters/Fighter Jets on Discovery Channel. At least I thought he'd be watching TV for a while, until he suddenly appeared at my elbow and said, "Hey, Mausi, can you google 'stuck in the mud'?"

(He said this in English although we almost always speak German to each other)

Me: 'Stuck in the mud'? Are you sure? Don't you mean 'stick in the mud'?
Mr: No, 'stuck in the mud'. I want to see some pictures.
Me: Pictures of people stuck in the mud? Umm, OK, here you go...look! There's a guy and his tractor!
Mr: Hmm, nope, that's not what I'm looking for. I want pictures of girls stuck in the mud.
Me: GIRLS?? Pictures of girls stuck in the mud? That's called mud wrestling. Let's see...m-u-d...
Mr: No, no, not mud wrestling! Just girls stuck in the mud with their cars.
Me: Whatever you say, dear. See? There aren't any pictures.
Mr: Darn. Try videos then.
Me: Videos? People make videos of girls stuck in the mud??
Mr: Yup. I read about it last week.
Me: OK, I'm checking. I can't believe it, but here it is.
Mr: Cool! Oooh, can you download that one with all the steam coming out?
Me: I certainly will not!

Hahaha! I really had to laugh. Well done, Mausi. Otherwise, Mr. M. might have the brilliant idea of mailing it to his male friends and make fun of women behing the wheel. :)

I saw something on the TV about this the other week. Scantily clad women with their cars stuck in the mud. Apparently it sells well?!

How timely... I asked DH to look up "how to pound yer chicken" yesterday (since when I pound chicken it looks like a crime scene afterwards )

Mr Schatzi gave me such a look and said I ain't googling that!!!

canadianswiss - I'm sure he *would* mail it to his friends. Other henpecked husbands love that sort of thing.

leon's life - :-)

haddock - it seems to be very popular. I'd give you the URL but of course *you* wouldn't be interested in that would you? ;-)

betty - I know. It boggles the mind.

Schatzi - 'How to pound yer chicken' LOL! I wonder what kind of images THAT would have brought up!

I shared this conversation with my husband and it scared him a little bit.
It seems rather akin to shark porn.

But this is where we get to say, "oh, it's normal, he is German", right?

OK. Maybe I'm naive but what is the attraction to women in mud? I've flipped this in my head and tried to think if a man covered in mud would be something I'd want to see and no matter which man I think of, I can safely say that dirty people do not attract me. What is there about the mud women image that I'm just not getting?

I'm still thinking about this. And I'm killing myself laughing here. I have issues I think. LOLOL

that is so funny! and how long have you and your h. been speaking only German? I need some tips...we (or should I say I) are finally at the point where we speak to other daily, one day it was exclusive... how did you learn, how long did it take? (curious minds) :)

Tat - I know! Just make sure G doesn't get wind of it!

melusina - It's a German site, actually, but I think it's more to do with being a guy than with being German. :-) Seems like he's forgotten about it already. American Chopper is apparently more exciting.

Seawitch - I have NO idea what goes on in the minds of men! If only we could take a peek in there now and then, eh?

Stellas's Mami - we switched over as soon as I arrived in Germany 15 years ago and it didn't take that long to start speaking only German - "when in Rome...", I guess. But I had some German in high school and university so I wasn't starting totally from scratch. It's just easier for us this way because my German is better than his English will ever be. I speak only English to the kids though.

men are funny like that. I would have just downloaded it for him... he would have been bored w/ it soon enough...lol. Better yet... get in your car and get stuck in the mud for him... maybe he would like that? ha ha ha... maybe he is trying to give you a hint??? Just kidding... lol... I am in an off frame of mind this morning.

Cathy - oh, he's weird all right. That's why I married him! :-)

hippo - LOL! Maybe, I dunno. I think I look better mud-free though. I'll let him download it himself and make him watch until he just can't see any more mud. That'll cure him.

That is kinda funny.. I really don't think P would ever be interested in that sort of thing. Maybe I am wrong, but I doubt it. That is cool you speak German. P and I have spoken about speaking French all the time so both of us don't loose it and so that I improve on what I have.. Maybe I should just do that... hmmmmmm
