come any closer and I will squash you like a grape

Yesterday I was in a mood that can only be described as fierce. The house was an absolute mess and the morning started off well with me taking 20 minutes to dig through the mountains of clean but crumpled laundry to find a pair of underwear for Boy12. All my socks seemed to have disappeared so I had to wear some of Mr. M's, and Boy9 stepped in doggy doo on his way home from school. Lots of fun scraping it off his winter boots with a stick. Oh yeah, and just before I left to go to the post office to send back the parcel I couldn't send back on Saturday, I found that I had lost the return receipt thingie I needed to get stamped. Then of course there were the awful cramps, a follow up to the previous two weeks of PMS. Bleh. Not my day at all.

See? My life isn't all banana bread and Advent wreaths.

Much of Lower Saxony is still covered in snow and without power but we are sitting here in the rain waiting for a little holiday cheer to come along. And in exactly 17 minutes I have to leave for the library to teach my English class. This afternoon two more students are coming for tutoring as well as one tomorrow and I'm not really in the mood. Oh well. Better go put on some lipstick so I don't frighten the natives.

You are the most amazing photographer. I say it's ok if you're in a fierce mood. Make it part of the lesson. "This is how Canadians ladies react to German doggy doo."

Thanks, Elemm - I did manage to squeeze in another cup! :-)

Schatzi! - The shade I'm wearing today is called 'W(h)ine with Everything' and yes, my day did get much better. I think we're 5 or 6 hours ahead of you.

Leon's Life - yes, it is terrible and getting worse all the time. I'm kind of looking forward to being an old lady. :-)

Betty my dear - you always know just the right thing to say. I happen to think that I'm quite the crappy photographer who occasionally comes up with something useable. But this isn't a photo blog so I doesn't matter much.

And I tell ya - there's enough poop on the sidewalks here to fill the Grand Canyon!

Hugs to you Christina; we all have those awful days, don't we; I had a yucky one yesterday, too (funny, a lot of bloggers I read seemed to have had a bad day; Mondays, hmmm). Looks like you;re cozy now, though. Maybe a little shopping, a new sweater or scarf would make everything better today???

Thanks, Cathy - shopping therapy is definitely on the agenda for tomorrow!

hope tomorrow treats you better. We've got snow here and the girls are going wild. It's going to be this way for a few days at least on the north shore we are told.

I just hate that doggy poo, boots and stick thing!
Glad your day got better in the end.

Expat - All that snow will be great for the ski hills.

Haddock - I know, and it's even worse when they forget to tell you about it until the next day. :-)

Hope you're doing better, Christina. I've had my fair share of 'those' days the past few months and know how they feel.

What happened to the post with the lovely wreath?

J - you get PMS too? Ha ha, only kidding!! I guess I just don't like Mondays very much.

I put the wreath post back in its proper place again. I was fiddling around and must have pushed save instead of publish. Thanks for pointing it out, I wouldn't even have noticed.

Lillian - oh yes, please, gin is always nice.

Karen - thanks, looks like today will be much better. I like Wednesdays.

Tat - LOL!! No, I haven't had to resort to wearing his underpants just yet but probably will if I don't get to the laundry today. :-)

I wear Rollies pants... his boxer briefs... all the time to bed. He won't wear them, so I guess they are actually mine now.
Thanks for the cookie help... got my stuff at the market this morning. xxxx

I have PMS too... I hate the crap!

Well... it's funny you should all be talking about this! I have just come on.. and when I'm on, I tend to wear Nicks boxer shorts in bed, and like hippo's husband, Nick won't wear them anymore... they are now my 'on knickers' hahaha! I can't quite believe that I've just said that in someones comments!!

I miss the snow to be honest. I thought I wouldn't when I moved down here but, to be honest, winter isn't really winter without it. I guess it's true what they say: The snow is always less yellow on the other side...

Ladies, please! LOL! This is supposed to be a respectable blog. :-) And anyway, Mr. M is a very large Teutonic man - his boxer shorts are about 4 sizes too big for me.

gc philo - yeah, I don't know if I could stand not having snow either. I'm glad I at least ended up in a place with different seasons even if everyone does complain about the weather.
